The ZHUYING PL06 is a specialized polarimetric long-wave infrared imaging module. Unlike conventional thermal cameras that measure only emission intensity, the PL06 measures the polarization state of thermal radiation — providing a unique discrimination channel for camouflage defeat, material identification, and surface characterization.

How Polarimetric LWIR Works

Man-made surfaces emit thermally polarized radiation due to their smooth, uniform geometry. Natural backgrounds (soil, vegetation, rock) emit predominantly unpolarized radiation. The PL06 exploits this contrast to reveal man-made objects that may be thermally invisible in conventional LWIR imagery.

Key Features

  • 7 μm pixel pitch — highest spatial sampling in the product range
  • Polarimetric discrimination — reveals camouflaged targets against natural backgrounds
  • 45×45 mm compact format — adaptable to research instruments and specialized payloads
  • CameraLink interface — industry-standard for scientific and industrial imaging

Typical Applications

Camouflage defeat systems, material science research, industrial surface inspection, environmental science, and specialized reconnaissance payloads.
